The North American Golf Tour Operators' Alliance Visits 2010 Ryder Cup Host Country of Wales

Darien, CT (May 10, 2012) – A 10-member delegation from the North American Golf Tour Operators’ Alliance visited New Zealand to discover one of the best-kept secrets in the world of golf travel.

Located in the Southern Hemisphere, this geographically diverse country with two small islands in the Pacific, both roughly the size of Colorado, provides a broad range of landscapes as the foundation for a multitude of world-class golf courses.

"From the Bay of Islands and Kauri Cliffs to Jacks Point in Queenstown, what an incredible experience to play golf in New Zealand. Throughout the North and South Islands, I was in awe of this magnificent country and all that it has to offer,” says Ann Mabry of Premier Golf. “The courses, accommodations, cuisine, wineries and sightseeing offer a complete package I would be quick to recommend to any international golf traveler.”

Representatives from NAGTOA were transported across the international dateline, courtesy of Air New Zealand, to experience their 10-day adventure hosted by Tourism New Zealand and accommodations, from a private home to five-star resorts, provided by Eagle’s Nest, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, Millbrook Resort, Hilton Lake Taupo, Dunalistair House, Sofitel Queenstown and night aboard Island Escape Cruises.

Included among the marquee courses played in the North Island were Kauri Cliffs, Kinloch GC, Wairakei GC, and Cape Kidnappers, along with The Hills and Jacks Point in the South Island.

New Zealand ranks as one of the world’s top golf destinations with superb facilities and breathtaking scenery making it a backdrop for a golf tour experience of a lifetime.
