The North American Golf Tour Operators' Alliance Visits 2010 Ryder Cup Host Country of Wales

Darien, CT (May 1, 2009) – In advance of next year’s Ryder Cup in Wales, twelve members of the North American Golf Tour Operators’ Alliance (NAGTO) visited the tournament’s host country to experience this unique golf destination.

Winner of the 2003 “Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year” by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, Wales will become the center of the golf universe when the USA Team takes on the European Team at Celtic Manor’s Twenty Ten Course and NAGTO is now positioned to provide expert advice to their clients about a spectacular golf trip to a land full of natural drama and ancient monuments.

"What I love about Wales is the excellent value for great links golf,” says Bill Hogan, President of Wide World of Golf. “The top courses like Royal Porthcawl, Pennard and Royal St. Davids are a fraction of the cost compared to the famous links of Scotland, England and Ireland."

During the eight-day excursion, Visit Wales and Celtic Manor Resort, the destination hosts, treated NAGTOA members to a full menu of hospitality representative of what golf travelers can expect to experience throughout Wales.

Included among the courses experienced by the golf travel specialists were the Twenty Ten Course, Royal Porthcawl, Conwy Golf Club, Pennard Golf Club, Royal St. Davids Golf Club and Nefyn & District Golf Club. The accommodations, right on par with the quality of golf, included Bodysgallen Hall Hotel, St. Davids Hotel & Spa and St. Brides Spa Hotel.

With Wales preparing to add to their rich golf history, plus the historic castles, beautiful scenery and Welsh hospitality, North American golfers will be eager to embrace this country as a bucket-list destination.
