Darien, CT (February 10, 2011) – In their quest to discover new golf destinations for their well-traveled customers, the North American Golf Tour Operators’ Alliance (NAGTOA) visited Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With some of the world’s best new courses built in recent years, Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer a complete golf vacation for players of all skill levels.
“To experience a completely unique area of the world, travel to Dubai and Abu Dhabi,” says Graham Spears from Sterling Golf Tours. “The golf is outstanding but the real draw is the amazing transformation of this piece of the desert to bustling financial, commercial, cultural, and government centers. Nothing is less than 5-Star, including hotels, restaurants, entertainment options, services and golf.”
Traveling on the comfort of Emirates Airlines and its impressive A380, the ten-day trip hosted by the Dubai Department of Tourism/U.S. to this corner of the world gave the golf specialists an opportunity to experience a wide sampling of the courses designed by the some of the biggest names in golf. Included in the mix were: Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club (Karl Litten/Thomas Bjorn); Emirates GC (Nick Faldo); Badia GC (Robert Trent Jones, Jr.); Jebel Ali Resort (Peter Haaradine); Jumeirah Golf Estates (Greg Norman) and Yas Links (Kyle Phillips).
World-class accommodations hosting NAGTOA members included: Park Hyatt Hotel; The Address Dubai Marina; InterContinental Dubai Festival City; Yas Island Rotana; Meydan Hotel; Jebel Ali Golf Resort; Dubai Ibn Battuta Hotel; and Le Meridien
Off the course there is no shortage of activities. From enjoying the world’s largest indoor theme park, world-class thoroughbred racing, shopping in the souks to desert jeep safaris, there is something for everyone that makes Dubai and Abu Dhabi a feast for the senses.
